I'm Nick, an infrastructure architect on Long Island, New York. By day I design the unglamorous layers everything else depends on: networks, virtualization, storage, backup and disaster recovery, cloud and identity. By night the same instincts point at stages instead of server rooms — lighting design, show networks and streaming from places that have no infrastructure until you bring it.

The name is a play on vNIC — the virtual network interface every VM gets. This site is where the war stories, designs and post-mortems get written down.
